Description vroth 2015-04-03 02:17:13 UTC
It would be nice if there was an option to create a graphic or diagram when selecting some data and using the right click button and selecting an option.

It was suggested by my mother when trying to use Calc for the first time.

Please make a better description what you want. For example which data (selecting some data) ? Use an examples, and tell why this should be benefit. Exist this function in other spreadsheets? Or is it about chart item in context menu? Thank you.

Set to unconfirmed then.

Sorry,

The data is when selecting a range of columns and rows using the mouse left click and drag feature or when selecting some of these same fields in any other way as using the arrow keys with shift when working with any spreadsheet.

This would be practical when working with mouse for casual users. This function exists in Microsoft's Excel.

Yes, it is chart item (the translation screwed it unfortunately).
Thank you

Looks like UX request to me.

Hi vroth,

Can you provide a screenshot of how this looks in excel, as i couldnt find it in excel 2010?

Personally i dont think that insert chart should be in calc's default context menu as not everytime you select cells, do you want to insert a chart, and the insert chart button is easily accessible in the standard toolbar.

Indeed it isn't.
I trusted the voice of the user, and I failed to verify it myself
beforehand.

I suggest this feature in case the ux becomes similar to newer offices.
Sorry for the time wasted.
