Description Yawder 2015-04-08 04:41:59 UTC
FILEOPEN on some existing .ods files will either not open or TEXT INPUT is displayed. On other existing files they now open as READ ONLY or "format error discovered.

Newly created ods files offer repair but open to a blank sheet - all data lost.

Uninstall and reload of Libre Office has not cured these problems which seem to be corrupting unused for some time .ods files

Hello Yawder,

Thank you for reporting the bug. Please attach a sample document, as this makes it easier for us to verify the bug.
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' once the requested document is provided.
(Please note that the attachment will be public, remove any sensitive information before attaching it.
See https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FAQ#How_can_I_eliminate_confidential_data_from_a_sample_document.3F for help on how to do so.)

To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you rename this LibreOffice user directory ( see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Default_location or http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/903/where-are-the-libreoffice-data-profile-files/ ) and re-test?

Thank you

Thanks for response

Problem traced to faulty USB drive having strange effects on both CALC FILEOPEN, file saving and Ubuntu not showing connected drives and USB sticks!

Then, it's not Fixed, I'll mark as Invalid.
