sampe csv to import and attempt to cause this error in charts.

I am initially "importing" or more correctly opening a .csv file, where LibreOffice Calc allows me to select the data-type for each column. By default, on import/conversion it lists each column as "standard".

If, that is customized, or changed from "standard", to something like date or text, once the tables is loaded into calc, you will be unable to create a chart for the data. The chart that it creates will be empty, and certain fields, that normally work, will be unable to work. As an example of a field that normally works, if you select 3d graphic, the box where it allows you to choose realistic vs. simple, you'll be unable to choose either option.

To replicate, create a simple csv document, something like the attached (test-csv.csv), choose a column type other than standard, something like date or text for the 2nd and 3rd columns, and then attempt to create a chart, and you will experience the error.

I talked to one of the core calc experts about this and it's not a bug - the way you're importing data is wrong so it's not a bug.

If you can give a real practical example of this not working (vs. the file that you provided which isn't practical at all, that data is just being detected as text which is of course not functional for a chart).

Marking as NOTABUG - if you can provide an actual example that we should expect something functional to be created please do so and move it back to UNCONFIRMED.

Please don't reopen the bug without another example as I've already discussed this with the person who knows the code the best and he's not convinced (given the provided example) that it's a bug.

Thanks for your understanding.
