Created attachment 115275 [details] Document that freezes I'm using LibreOffice Writer on Fedora 21: Version: 4.3.6.2 Build ID: 4.3.6.2-4.fc21 I've also tried installing LibreOffice 4.4.2 from the LibreOffice website but have the same problem. The past few weeks i've been working on a document with many tables, most with 2-3 rows and 5-10 columns. I'm not sure what causes the freezes exactly, but it seems to always happen when i'm editing/have the cursor in a table. For example, just now it froze when trying to change the style of a table. It's not just that LibreOffice stops responding, the entire computer freezes and i'm unable to do anything else, including switching sessions with Ctrl+Alt+F1-6. The mouse still moves, and one time while listening to music the music continued playing in the background. I've spent a few hours a day working on it and every day my computer has frozen 3-4 times (approx. every 30-40 minutes) when working on this document causing me to have to restart my computer 3-4 times (and save constantly), always when working in a table, seemingly when clicking on/inside a table. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open attached document 2. Click around in a table with the mouse 3. Continue clicking and wait for freeze to happen
please tell your Linux distro and version I see no freeze under Win8x64 using LibO 4.4.1.2 just clicked on the file tables for a couple of minutes... how much time does it takes to you to experience the freeze?
I can not reproduce with 4.3.7.2 on Fedora 21 Seeing that you've crashed multiple times, it's quite possible that your user profile has become broken. Can you try to reproduce it with a fresh user profile? For the location of user profile, see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Default_location

I'm using Fedora 21 64 bits: $ uname -r 3.19.1-201.fc21.x86_64 > how much time does it takes to you to experience the freeze? It depends, when i just click around in the table a bunch it takes a couple minutes, but when working generally on a document somewhere between 30 minutes to an hour (since i don't spend the whole time working in tables). Can you try to reproduce it with a fresh > user profile? > > For the location of user profile, see > https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Default_location I've already tried deleting my user profile (i deleted the entire libreoffice folder in the .config directory). I've also installed the 4.4.2 version from the LO website. It might be related to that file. It was originally a Microsoft Office document that i converted over to an .odt file. I just spent about 10 minutes clicking around trying to figure out a way to get it to crash and finally gave up, thinking perhaps a kernel update or something had fixed it. Then literally right when i clicked on the next table i wanted to work on, it froze... I'm not sure what exactly is causing it, because i just spent another ten minutes or so clicking around without a crash, but as i was working on it some 30 minutes later the computer froze again. This time i managed to press [ctrl]+[alt]+[F1-8] (just slid my finger across the F keys) and saw this message repeating over and over, with the first number in brackets on the left getting gradually larger: [9658.682474] nouveau E[Xorg.bin[1380]] nv50cal_space: -16 After a few seconds it stopped and the whole computer was frozen as normal. I'm not sure if that helps any or if it's even related.
Possibly related to GPU driver or DPMS. You could try turning off hardware acceleration in Tool -> Options -> LibreOffice -> View.
I've already turned off hardware acceleration, so i don't think that's it. I also tried turning it on, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Not reproducible for me with Version: 5.0.1.0.0+ Build ID: 607af001ccdbfe40b089942b879e5ce3980bde49 Ubuntu_15.04_x86-64 Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8) Best regards. JBF
I can't reproduce it on Ubuntu 16.04.1 with Libre Office 5.2.2.2 Build ID: 8f96e87c890bf8fa77463cd4b640a2312823f3ad CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.4; UI Render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group
