Simple example of MATCH function problem

When doing an exact MATCH and the index/search has a plus sign (+) in the field. For example if you have list:

a
b
c+
d

and you do match with a "c+" it will not find it correctly. Try same thing in excel and no problem. See attach simple example.

Hi @skiani, thanks for reporting.

Function works properly, the issue is that the file has activated regular expression for search.
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/Calculate - Enable regular expressions in formula.
Disable it so it must work fine.

You can look about regular expressions in the inner help.

'+' is part of the regular expression, if you want use regex then for search for '+' you need to disable their special meaning, with a backslash before it '\+'
