Format Cells: Background colour dialog.

Dear all,

Is it possible to add a feature to Calc to remember the recently used background colour for cells?

I am referring to the attached dialog window. Given all the different colour options, it is difficult to remember for me as a user which colour I applied to a certain cell and which I would like to use again to have a consistent appearance.

A small selection panel featuring all recently used background colours would help enormously to quickly select the desired colour.

What do you think?

Regards,

Robert

Reproducible with LO 4.4.3.2, Win 8.1 and marked as enhancement request

If you use the colour picker in the toolbar at the top, then you can see the recent selected colours, but not in FORMAT CELLS -> tab BACKGROUND.

But there is also one further issue. If you use the background colour from the toolbar which is shown at the start of CALC then this colour is not shown under Recent. It will only be shown if the colour was changed before. -> Bug

Nice idea, I'd like to see the last few recently used background colors in the drop down box...

OK, I've noticed that the word 'recent' is there with a long white rectangle below it but nothing more, is this an unfinished item? It only seems to populate when the drop-down on the tool-bar is used in a certain manner, this should be expanded to a background color being applied in any way such as right click->format cells->Background, or via copy+paste.

@Jay @Caolan
do you think it's techically possible to reuse the "recent" color list from the color picker dropdown menu in the dialog window as well?

@Tommy: Yes the all-in-one object fill tab (bug 94551) which has a rcently used color section is intended to be ported into background tabs of various dialogs.

( there is an meta issue for this, or something like that )
