Created attachment 115839 [details] Screenshot from the task. The right window is Pari. If I wanna compute an larger number (over 10^16) I got an bug. The 15. place of the number will be always bounded up/down. I need this numbers for an research project and I don´t wanna make an little mistake. I was using calc, because it´s much faster than R or Pari. [Write the number down, one for one...:/] For my project this bug is major, now I need much more time.
I see you’ve indicated you’re using version 4.1.3. Can you try again with a newer LibreOffice version, such as 4.4.3? https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ The 4.1 branch reached EOL (end of life) in May 28, 2014, as indicated in the release schedule: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan Therefore, it lacks support.
The issue is that your are in the limit of precision, and it's a matter of the hardware. Please see comment#4 in:: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50299#c4
I´m re-opening this because I tested it on 3 other other devices, (2xLinux and 1x Win 8), with the same result. [using 4.4.3] Different hardware was used, so I´m not realy sure that this is an hardware-only bug.
Bug does not meet the criteria for Status 'REOPENED' https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Fields/Status/REOPENED#Criteria Status -> RESOLVED NOTABUG Dennis: please read what Kohei wrote in bug 50299. "The limitation applies to all software that runs on current hardware, not just spreadsheet. Some mathematical and statistical software overcome this by not using FPU and doing it all at software level. But we can't afford to do that, or else the performance of formula calculation will end up 1000 times slower."
