Ability to choose citation styles would be very appreciated by scientists and students. There should be all available styles and also possibility to add custom citation styles. Sometimes some schools etc will require their very own citation style. Then it should be possible.

Citation style means both: citating in text and at the end of document - bibliography.

Here are good examples with images how it is solved in MS Word - http://www.fgcu.edu/support/office2007/Word/references.asp - added as backup (PDF) also here.

This might mean that also creating a bit more comfortable interface using bibliography database and both inserting citation with chosen style but also bibliography itself.

The idea to make feature request has been described already at Bug 61426 and now here it is.

It would be nice if we could use LibreOffice as a serious and rock solid scientific article writing tool. Currently it seems that is not possible due to fact that there is no referency style support like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citation#Styles

Bibliography in OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice is an old story. See bug 86991 comment #1.
