Description Edmund Laugasson 2015-05-24 04:44:29 UTC
Using 64-bit Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.1 with 4.0.4-040004-generic kernel
LibreOffice version: 5.0.0.0.beta1
Build ID: 0a16c3dda4150008d9be6f24cbd15ac198d116d3
Locale: et-EE (et_EE.UTF-8)

Currently there is for X-axis possible to set the value 0 but I would propose to make possible that for Y-axis as well.

Reason: usually there would be axises like cross and the zero point in the middle where axises will cross each other. Currently it seems to be not possible to create such axises.

same chart with XY type

The requested function is already there. You used the wrong chart type, use XY instead of line.
In the line type the "Cross other axis at" is also available: change from category to start.

Closing as NotABug.

WorksForMe is better status.

Feel free to reopen if you disagree. In such a case, please argue.

better show of the zero point in the middle of XY-scatter diagram type

In the uploaded file case I have to agree - this feature exist and added my new version of the file. There must be both positive and negative values to better understand.

But it seems that question is - there is not possible to change the X-axis scale - see the attached picture. If I could change also X-axis scale then there would be possible to show zero point in the middle even if I do not have negative values.

Y-axis have scale feature and can be customized in XY-scatter diagram type
Comment 9 Edmund Laugasson 2015-05-24 06:48:05 UTC
The workaround in case of XY-scatter diagram type would be if I can override the X-axis range by manually changing it. Currently I suppose it will solve the issue. Yes - this would a waste of space but what if I have that space? Usually there is a small table in some corner and most of the sheet space is empty. To have better understanding that there is also negative space it would be useful to show it even if there are no negative values for current function.

scaling x-axis for XY chart

> X-axis does not have scale feature in XY-scatter diagram type

Please, before saying that something is not possible in LibreOffice, try it with current stable version and ask on users mailing list.
You have obviously the same scaling possibility for x-axis as you have for y-axis. If you do not see it you have another problem, perhaps related to OpenGL.

Closing again as WorksForMe.

That is weird - now I see that X-axis scaling also in case of XY-scatter diagram type.

By the way, I reinstalled LibreOffice 5.0.0.0.beta1 for making test for the Bug 76967 - it seems that this changed the situation. That's just opinion...

At least it is possible for now and I agree the status of current bug.
