Created attachment 116070 [details] Text sample GTK and KDE4 themes encounter encoding problems in orthographic/grammar checking dialog box, whereas GENERIC's one is OK. It can be reproduced using Grammalect extension on the attachment (sorry, I don't know how to test it in english...). Version: 5.0.0.0.beta1+ Build ID: 02fe9b00f9e779d69189dc011c82dce32c0446fc TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:libreoffice-5-0, Time: 2015-05-25_01:16:20 Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8) Xubuntu 14.10 utopic Linux 3.16.0-38-generic
Can you attach screenshots and explain more precisely with step by step way to replicate this bug? Thank you!!
NEEDINFO, while we wait for steps.
Created attachment 117025 [details] Grammalecte's propositions and result Here are steps to reproduce : 1) Create a new document from the initial screen 2) Install Grammalecte extension (http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/dictionnaires-francais/releases/5.3/lo-oo-ressources-linguistiques-fr-v5-3.oxt) 3) Set language for all text to French 4) Make automatic spell checking active 5) On the first line, write the text "1er" + enter ("er" will be automatically place on upper position, it's correct) 6) On the second line, write the texte "2eme" + enter ("2eme" will be bluewave-underlined, it's correct) 7) Right-click on "2eme", and it will give you the Grammalecte's propositions (see attachment, please) 8) Choose the first one (it should be a "2" with a "e" upper-placed) 9) "2eme" will be replaced by "2"+square, in place of "2" with a "e" upper-placed Writing this, I'm asking about "graphics stack" relevance of this bug...
Note: the correct extension to install, if you want to see that blue wave under 2eme is: http://www.dicollecte.org/grammalecte/oxt/Grammalecte-v0.4.10.1.oxt My first try of right-clicking froze LibO, but killing and restarting it worked ok. I got the upper "e" displayed ok, not as a rectangle. Kubuntu 15.04, Plasma 5, LibO with KDE integration Version: 5.0.0.2 Build ID: 00m0(Build:2) Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)
Reproduced with Scientific Linux 7 64-bit, Gnome 3.8. LibreOffice: Version: 5.0.0.2 Build ID: a26d58f11b99b6aeddf7f7884effea188cc6e512 Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8) Yeah, graphics stack is the Vcl toolkit basically. I feel "Extensions" would not be appropriate either, so I'll just set to Writer.
Following the instructions of comment #3 and comment #4 about the correct extension to download I'm unable to reproduce this bug on Debian 8 (jessie) with KDE, so I'm getting number "2" followed by "e" in upper-placed in the following versions: Versión: 4.3.7.2 Id. de compilación: 8a35821d8636a03b8bf4e15b48f59794652c68ba Versión: 4.4.3.2 Id. de compilación: 88805f81e9fe61362df02b9941de8e38a9b5fd16 Configuración regional: es_ES Version: 5.0.0.1 Build ID: 9a0b23dd0ab9652e0965484934309f2d49a7758e Locale: es-ES (es_ES.UTF-8) Version: 4.4.5.0.0+ Build ID: 338f47cf52f6eed3c05021d4272604438f0f550d TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:libreoffice-4-4, Time: 2015-07-03_10:41:16 Locale: es_ES.UTF-8 Version: 5.0.0.2.0+ Build ID: 64b4ed9de3852494416cdcb8c25d2e24fc4d0253 TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:libreoffice-5-0, Time: 2015-07-03_09:08:51 Locale: es-ES (es_ES.UTF-8) Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: 8b788891796ff0571f779cdbe8ce809c35c42754 TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2015-07-03_01:07:30 Locale: es-ES (es_ES.UTF-8) Arnaud, could you please tell us which is the font you're having this issue with?
(In reply to Carlos Rodriguez from comment #6 and considering comment #5) > Arnaud, could you please tell us which is the font you're having this issue > with? Nevermind :-)
Created attachment 117065 [details] Tests changing VCL Toolkit & Font It was a good idea, Carlos ! I made tests, but it's not easy for me to analyse, because I don't know anything about Libreoffice's programming. Sometime, the right-clicking-menu's has an encoding bug : - with all gtk*'s VLC Toolkit ; - with kde's VCL Toolkit and some particular fonts (ex. : Liberation Serif). Sometime, the corrected text has an encoding a bug : - with gen's, gtk3's, & kde4's VCL Toolkit ; - with some particular fonts (ex. : Liberation Serif) with gtk's & gtk2's VCL Toolkit. Only one configuration works perfectly for my tests : kde VCL Toolkit using Ubuntu font (other fonts may work, but I can't test all cases...). gen's VCL Toolkit' right-clicking menu is well encoded in all cases. kde's corrected text is well encoded in all cases. I'm ready to test further more if needed !
