It'd be nice to get the following FilterConfigItems folded into the glade / UI XML - it'd save a fair bit of code for simple boolean (etc.) options.

Hmm - thanks for filing Laszlo - seeing how few call-sites there are I think this prolly doesn't make sense; so I'll close it. Thanks =)
