Description John 2015-06-09 14:44:51 UTC
Using LO 5.0.0.0 x64 beta 2 under Win 8.1 x64. Open existing Writer document. Try to insert cursor in other part of document using mouse. Cursor doesn't move. Try using keyboard and cursor movement either doesn't happen or is erratic. Showstopper I think - makes Writer beta 2 unusable.

Works OK in Impress but not Writer.

Also present in Linux

I have the same problem with 5.0.0.0.beta2 x86-64 on Kubuntu 14.04.2 x86_64. This bug was not present in 5.0.0.0.beta1 nor in a least one of the nightly builds since then but there doesn't seem to be an option to select beta2 as a version for this bug.

In Writer the the cursor stays at the beginning of the line when starting a new document. Typing new text doesn't move the cursor. Trying to place the cursor with the mouse doesn't move the cursor but does change where what you type is placed.

Calc does not seem to be affected.
