Would it be possible to enable text explanations when hovering over icons in the toolbars? Just single or two or three words to explain what the icon is for. For those not familiar with all the owrkings of LibreOffice, it would be extremely helpful.
Er, toolbar icons already have tooltips… and have had them for a long time.
Since using LibreOffice (a couple or more years now) this has never worked for me. I use Windows 7 starter on a Netbook and have the latest version of LibreOffice for Windows. This function always worked when I was using Microsoft Word but has never worked for me in LibreOffice. If the function actually owrks, can anyone offer a possible cause why it may not work for me? Alan
For me it works as expected under LO 4.4.3.2, Win 8.1. @Alan: Could you please check the following at your LO: Go in the menu toolbar to TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> section LIBREOFFICE -> subsection GENERAL: There "Tips" in the "Help" section should have been ticked to show the tooltips.
Yes, thanks so much. This did it. Perhaps it would be a good idea to have the tips default to "on" when LibreOffice is distributed. :-) Regards, Alan
as far as I know tips are already "ON" as default setting I suspect you accidentally turned them "OFF" or you had some issues with your user profile anyway, let's close this as WORKSFORME
