In my brief look at the 5.x rc1 before realizing it was rendering my documents unusable, I noticed that "Manage Changes" and "Design" were added as new panels on the sidebar. If the elements presently available on the Table toolbar could be added as another enhancement, that would be quite a welcome addition as well, since it would save keystrokes and time. This is related to, but not the same as Bug #92660. I'm using LibreOffice Writer Version: 4.4.4.0.0+ Build ID: 5c6f7f0920a91c974e9639f2c751582c8f140b2b running on 64 bit Ubuntu 14.04.02 LTS

Toolbars serve as quick access to frequently used functions. Examples are add/delete for rows and columns. The sidebar, however, is mainly used for properties. That could be the cell background, border etc. Right now both is merged into the toolbar. Your enhancement proposal makes perfect sense but was filed before in bug 95279 with a possible solution. Making this one a duplicate. If you are talking about an overall design we have the table style now in the sidebar. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 95279 ***
