excel format file

Setup the printer for an A4 horizontal.
Select cells from H66 to M76
Print the selection trying to print on an horizontal A4: there is no way to do it: the page format is always vertical.
see attached file.

Interesting. Report is rather slim. Thank you for making LO better, but please be more specific and make some tests when reporting bugs.
Attachment here is not important, because each selection printing from Calc is the same: changing page format in printer is useless. That started from 4.1.
Before, changing page format in printer to landscape, let's say, yielded landscape page, but without correct print, so not a regression.

I checked MS: you can choose orientation during print, but even if you change page orientation for a printer, you get page orientation changed, so all settings in print dialog are integrated.
Yes, setting the page style to landscape will print correct, but that's a workaround for a selection, so I consider this a bug and set to Minor.

Or at the Tab Options check "Use only paper size from printer preferences" and then set the printer properties correct.

I set this as WorksForMe.
If you have detailed info about how this doesn't work, as requested by Timur too, please mention it and reopen.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.1 says:
Printer settings change tdf#61186 (Caolán McNamara)
By default the printer settings (such as page size) are taken from the printer settings stored in the document (File ▸ Printer Settings ▸ Properties), not the Printer Properties (File ▸ Print ▸ Properties).
To use the settings from the Printer Properties (previous behaviour), click the new "Use only paper size from printer preferences" checkbox on the "Options" tab.

So, that explain what the trick with "Use only paper size from printer preferences" seems to work for paper orientation.

But, printing DOESN'T WORK in terms of correct printing of selection.
Please try with some data in the cells. Using that option and setting to Landscape I get the paper oriented, but I don't get the selection printed.

Hi Timur,

Thanks. Then that is a different issue: when printersettings Landscape is used and Page formatting not adjusted, the information is not printed correct. Is it?

Basically, yes, but also for vice-versa: Landscape Page format printing to Portrait.
And probably also the same problem for Writer.
Comment 8 Timur 2016-03-14 16:48:34 UTC
Looking at Bug 98114 and attachment 122911 [details] I noticed I can change page orientation there in Print dialog via printer properties.
But only as long as it's Letter page. If I change to A4, I can't.
Similar here with attachment 117173 [details], if I change to Letter, I can change page orientation in Print dialog.
Actually, it works for Letter, Legal, and it doesn't for A4, A3, B4..
Comment 9 Timur 2017-09-11 14:16:45 UTC
I think this is not Calc but LO. I had similar in Impress. Tried to print 6 slides per page (PDF export doesn't allow this).
We have (pages and default orientation): 1 L, 2 P, 4 L, 6 P, 9 L, 16 L which is mostly OK.
But if I want to change 6 P to 6 L, I can't. Even if paper was Letter, it's changed to A4 then and orientation remains P.
Repro in LO 6.0+.
Comment 11 Zineta 2017-11-10 12:09:50 UTC
I can not reproduce it with 6.0.0 and earlier.
Comment 12 Timur 2017-11-10 13:14:48 UTC
I still repro this one. We may have diff. problems:
- user must know about "Use only paper size from printer preferences" checkbox on the "Options" tab if (s)he wants to change paper orientation just for print
- even with that, selection print in Calc/Writer is not correct
- there's no preview for selection print, so Page formatting is not and cannot be adjusted in Calc/Writer (or for pages per sheet layout in Impress, that may be another bug)

Looks like comment 8 for Calc is still repro in LO 6.5+.
Note: there's no more ""Use only paper size from printer preferences".
Comment 9 for Impress is no repro since new print dialog. Adapting Title.

Dear fabriadri,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!
