NO BUG, JUST AN ENHANCEMENT REQUEST !!!!

If I copy/paste some cells, the frames are gone, if I do not say: paste only xyz.
After that, I wanna make the frames as they are before.

Hard work with no Info in the PopUps for: Frame-Location and Frame-Size.

1)
I highlight the cells without a frame, go to the toolbar:
PopUp Frame - ok, I say left side.
No mark like √ or •, nor a bold symbol in the PopUp after that operation.
PopUp Framestyle and size - don’t tell me, which one is 0,5P or 1P or 2P or ??? I only see examples, that do not match the real thickness.

BTW: Are they sorted in anyway? Not really. Or? I choose the last single-line entry and it was thinner than the entry before… (Mac only?)

No chance to find the right Frame-thickness - Frame-strength.
A Text like 0,25P - 0,5P and so on, would be more helpful, than the lines as a sample, because the lines as sample do not match the real thickness in the Mac GUI.

2)
The first and the last cell have a frame on top and on bottom left.
The Frame-PopUp is not showing any mark on cell A1: Top has already a frame…
Cell A200 has already a frame on the bottom - no mark here too.

3)
Cell A200 has already a frame on the bottom - Linesize is? No Info about it in any PopUp in the Toolbar.
If I will give this cell a frame on the left side, I don’t know what size I should choose, because I have no Info, what size the frame on the bottom already has….

This behavior is in 4.4.3.2. (and 4.4.4.3? only short tested)
Hopefully it is already done in a further Version of LO.

@Manfred : sorry, I'm lost. As a part time Calc user at best, I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you mean the cell border attributes ? Or do you really mean frames (I didn't know there were frames in Calc).

Did it work previously, and if so, in which version ?

Hi Alex,

thanks for your time to go into my enhancement-request.

Sorry, the main language here is english.
My native language is german.
I am out of school 40 years now…
So please ask again, if you do not understand what I mean…

But, for sure I mean the cell border attributes.

It is too difficult to set them.
Maybe it’s a Mac-only problem?
I think not.
The PopUps do not show any information!
Not what already is there, not about the sizes - nothing.

Feel free to correct anything I wrote wrong…

Have a view to the small picture I had uploaded:
How to do? easy is anything else…

I wanna make the vertikal borderline the same as the borderline horizontal.

On Mac OSX - no chance!
(Maybe on Windows it works, but not for me with OSX 10.10.4 and LO4452 today…)

To make it more accurate:
The size of the horizontal border is 1 or 2 Point or 1,5 ???
The size of the vertikal border is 0,5, 0,75, 1 or 1,5 Point ???
One cell, one column, has a borderline left (what size?), but no borderline on top.
How to make all Borderlines 2 point thick to get a frame (german = Rahmen)?

If I go to the toolbar, I can’t see any Information, what size already exists and no mark on any icon at the next toolbar-popup: Where is a border already there? - NOTHING

I am blind and helpless, where to set, what kind, what is already there, where is what size already there… - differently nothing!

I will post some pictures more to make it more "necessary"… ?!!!

The toolbar for the cell-border attributes (3) look like … sorry: 10 years ago…
Too small, no Info, nothing is marked.

The cell has different borderlines on every side.

Can you see it in the pictures?
Can you easy change it?

What thickness on left, bottom?
Double Line? Normal line?

!!!!! Why so small PopUps that do show nothing?

The same behavior in 5.0.3.2 --- as every year James…

??????
Is anybody supporting bugs, discovered in Versions for Mac OSX above 10.6 ???????

(LO 4.3 and so on)…

Does anybody in the Quantity of developers has such a machine?
I think not… !
There are bugs, you, yes you! will act if you recognize them.
Bugs like I reported.

This app is nearly unusual for me if there is no support and the main bugs I reported are out there a few month later, like no one is interested to help with better code.

See my other reported bugs.
All that happened is something like:
This is duplicate from that, this is not duplicate from that, this is …

shit

big shit!

There are guys creating new toolbars, but this is still unchanged...
Comment 10 Manfred 2020-08-07 12:33:04 UTC
Hi there,

it is still the same problem in 7.0.0.3 on a Mac.

With only the statusbar it's not possible to set the cell border attributes as wanted, nor to see, what's there setted already.

With the properties open, it’s a bit better, but how to set a border with only 1pt?

Only with menu : Format : Cells : Borders
it is possible to see and to set borders as wanted, but after a long way.

3 new pictures to show how it looks today.

Ciao
Manfred
