Description of Embedded database menu

Hi.

After "Enable experiment feature switch" set ON, Embedded database menu on Database Wizard only displays HSQLDB. (Attachment is Embedded database menu capture)

If "Enable experiment feature switch" is ON, I think this menu display Firebird, too.

env.
OS : Windows 10 x64

Build ID: f79b5ba13f5e6cbad23f8038060e556217e66632

info: if LibreOffice 5.0 rc3 on Linux, user can select firebird. Windows 10 x64 only?

regards,

Can't confirm on OSX either. Win64 only ?
Comment 3 Alex Thurgood 2015-07-20 08:21:22 UTC
This requires someone from QA with a Win64 bit LO to test and confirm.

DavidO, you in charge of the Windows 64 bits port?

No. That's open source project and all contributors are in charge for all features on all platforms.

On 64 bit Windows platform experimental firebid driver cannot be built/linked and was disabled for now.

See this link for more details: [1]. Notice the bottom line in this table with the link to the link error messages during tinderbox build in firebird module.

That's not a QA question but a developer who track down the build breakage and fix it.

../gen/firebird/bin/fbstatic.lib : warning LNK4003: invalid library format; library ignored

Maybe it tries to link against a 32 bit binary lib?

Any idea who has a Windows build environment and could be interest in looking into it?

When it comes about build system tweaks, the usual suspects are:

* mst_
* sberg
* dtardon

I added them to this issue.

I know it's for the future but it could be interesting to give a try to 5.3.0 version following the migration to Firebird 3.0

On Win10/x64 and LO 5.2.2 (x64), "Firebird Embedded" is present in the "Embedded database" choice when creating un new database.
