Created attachment 117309 [details] Spreadsheet with uneditable conditional formatting rule affecting column G Once a conditional formatting rule has been created, it is possible to edit or delete that rule in the Manage Conditional Formatting dialog (Format > Conditional Formatting > Manage). However, the changes cannot be saved, as the OK button in Manage Conditional Formatting appears to be nonfunctional. (The Cancel button appears to be nonfunctional as well, but clicking on the dialog box's Close button effectively cancels the operation.) In the attached spreadsheet, entries in the column "$ Calc" (Calculated Price, Column G) are supposed to turn red if there has been a data-entry error in the "Gal" (Gallons Purchased, Column E), "$PG" (Price in Dollars Per Gallon, Column F), or the "$ Paid" (Price Actually Paid, Column H) columns. To work correctly, the test value on the right-hand side of the conditional formatting rule must be "$H3" for the specified range, which begins at $G3. Saving and reloading the spreadsheet caused the test value to change from "$H3" to $H5", causing all entries in G to turn red. (This will be the subject of a separately filed bug.) Edits to the conditional formatting rule correcting the test value cannot be saved.
Hi @Peter, Go to G3 then edit conditional format, condition has $H5 not as I think must be $H3, with this change works properly. Entering a relative address the condition point to the relative position where you are where you are going to edit the condition. To avoid mistakes using relative references is better go to the first cell where conditional range begin. Please if you are not agree reopen it.
Hi, m.a.riosy --- Did you actually apply your instructions to the attached spreadsheet? Can you edit the rule? Can you delete the rule? And after you do so, can you SAVE ("OK") the changes you made? I tried, again, and it didn't seem to matter what cell or range I selected before opening the Manage Conditional Formatting dialog or what cell or range I specified at the bottom of the existing rule. The Manage Conditional Formatting dialog box's OK button was nonfunctional and would not save changes.
Yes, you can find the file modified on the next bug that you have reported. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=117312
I see that you were able to edit the rule. I still can't. I'm using: Version: 4.4.4.3 Build ID: 2c39ebcf046445232b798108aa8a7e7d89552ea8 Locale: en_US Did you use the same version? If so, I'm going to have to try reinstalling LibreOffice.
As noted, I discovered this apparent bug in: Version: 4.4.4.3 Build ID: 2c39ebcf046445232b798108aa8a7e7d89552ea8 Locale: en_US for Windows 7. I also have: Version: 4.4.3.2 Build ID: 40m0(Build:2) Locale: en_US for Linux Mint 17.2 (Cinnamon), running in a VirtualBox 5.0 virtual machine on Windows 7. I opened the file in Calc 4.4.3.2. for Linux and was also unable to save any changes to conditional formatting rules made in Manage Conditional Formatting. In fact, no window control buttons or command buttons whatsoever appeared in Manage Conditional Formatting's main windows-- no close-window button, and no Edit, Remove/Delete, OK, or Cancel buttons. The Escape key allowed me to cancel out.
Resolved -- this was apparenlty the result of a corrupted profile. (See Bug 92811.) Many thanks to m.a.riosv for his/her kind assistance.
