Create a new chart in calc, adda legend and try to rotate the legend. I try to use the XY Scatter from top-bottom instead of left to right and thus rotated the whole chart (as this option is not available). See also https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=117318
Not a bug, works as expected because this feature is not implemented. Set as enhancement. That said I do not know a use-case in which the ability to rotate the legend could be useful. Please, could you argue on this? Best regards. JBF
Hi JB, did you see my attachment? check the second tab and explain how do i get dynamical a legend? or how do i get such a scatter top bottom? I hadn't found any tutorial - only reports that this is not possible. so the workaround is to simply rotate everything ;-)
Ok, Dennis, you convinced me. -> NEW

Ok, but the root problem is not to rotate the legend but to build a chart from top to bottom instead of left to right. That is to say with the x-axis vertical and the y-axis horizontal. The ability to rotate the legend (entire chart rotated by -90° and legend rotated by +90°) does not solve this problem, because you have the same with other elements of the chart, for example with the title. Best regards. JBF
Created attachment 117332 [details] example of vertical XY chart Here is an example of vertical XY chart with horizontal title and legend. The idea is to invert X and Y roles. Please have a look to each data series to see how to create several curves. Does that solve your problem? Best regards. JBF
From comment #7, the status should be NEEDINFO. Please, set it back to NEW if the proposed solution does not work for you or to WorksForMe if it does. Best regards. JBF

Maybe I'm really dump or the UX has to improved dramatically. General speaking: yes the rotation of the legend is only a workaround. Can somebody please try to explain me how do i get the xy scatter topdown?
