When I open a file, it request "This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated?
When I open a file it prompts: "This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated?" There are none so far I know. When I tried to edit it (Edit-->Links), Links are shaded (indication that there are none). A search showed that no solution was yet find and the conclusion was that it is probably a bug.
Please attach a test document that exhibits the problem. Without a test document it is impossible to reproduce the bug and then to fix it. Best regards. JBF
Created attachment 117501 [details] See comment Thanks for coming back for more information from my side. Basic stats about my system is: Win 7 Prof 32 bit RAM = 4GB (3.22 usable) Libre Office Version: 4.4.3.2 Build ID: 88805f81e9fe61362df02b9941de8e38a9b5fd16 Locale: en_ZA The original files was an Excel 2002. I recently changed to LibreOffice and the file is still in the Excel format. I presume that sometime back there was probably a linked file, but is no more the case. Excel open it without issues. Also if you checked for linked files in Excel, the Edit/Links are disabled. I simplified the original file to something very basic. When I tried to open, the file still gives the message: "This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated?" Once loaded, the Edit/Links instruction is also greyed out. I suppose an old linked file flag is still set that causes the issue and I am not able yet to find a way to reset it. I hope this will help you to resolve the problem. Regards FCK
Open the "Manage names" dialog (Ctrl+F3) and you will see names refering to another file. Delete these names.
