Description Alex Thurgood 2015-07-24 07:47:58 UTC
How to reproduce :
1) Open a database file

2) Create a new table in Table Design mode

3) In the grid view of Table Design mode, one selects the field data type in the second column. This used to be a drop down list of the data types that the underlying database engine supported, and which totally filled the cell. In current master, the suggested datatypes are now bounded by a rounded border, which no longer fills the cell (because the widget is rounded).

This is a regression (visual, but still a regression). After all, what is the point of having a cell border if we are going to draw a rounded button in it ?

Confirming myself since it would appear that no one else QAs Base bugs on OSX.

Unlikely, that this bug affects other OSes, but you never know, so CC'ing the usual crew.

Couldn't reproduce it with OpenSUSE 13.2, LO Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+

So a special Mac-problem?

I guess this can be bibisected with this repository: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/admin/projects/bibisect-macosx-64-5.1. Adding keyword 'bibisectRequest'

I tried bibisecting this, but ran into issues with Java not working.

The issue was still present in the LO 4.3 repository, but I couldn't test with 4.2

Lowering importance and severity

I now see a rounded dropdown menu button, with blue shading, inside a cell with a white background - the button and blue shading do not fill the white cell...this bug appears to be getting worse.

Scrrenshot Dropdown Field Type Selection
Comment 13 Alex Thurgood 2021-09-30 10:00:16 UTC
This bug appears to have gotten worse, at least in

Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: bc7baa18435000f47f90e47d3300710bcb4cf56b
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 10.16; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Now, when the field is selected for type definition from the dropdown menu, the rounded box doesn't fully cover the default text that is supplied to the underlying cell before selection of the dropdown menu.

I tried LO3.3.0. There are Java issues. I had to reinstall JavaForOSX.dmg (2017-001). It worked and I've attached a screenshot. Please see "Screen Shot 2023-08-12 at 15.12.46-LO3.3.0.png" to see if the issue is there or not.

Then I tried with LO5.4.3.2 but ran into the Java issues again. I see there is a posted Java issue with MacOS. I installed Adoptium 17 (OpenJDK17U-jdk_x64_mac_hotspot_17.0.8_7.pkg). But LO 5.4.3.2 will not find or accept either of the Java installation so unfortunately I'm stuck and can't test further. :-(
