Sample for Scatterplot

Hi,

Ever since using Excel I missed the function to ADD LABELS TO POINTS in a Scatterplot. Always had to use a Macro of some sort.

There was this function in LO v.4 as well as in OO I think, but at least now in v. 5 it is not there and if it is there, it does not work even though I have ticked "labels in first column". See attachment.

This is a no go in much of academic publishing where Scatterplots are used. Adding the labels by hand is ridiculous.

Please make this simple thing functional.

Thanks,
W

Hi iapetus,

In your spreadsheet, double-click into the chart area to enter in edition mode.
Put the mouse cursor above the first point and right click on it. The whole set of points will be selected and in the contextual menu, you will find Insert Data Labels. Isn't it what you are searching?

Should this bug be closed?

It was working using Jacques method in 5.1.2 ( the earliest I started using ), and I just confirmed in 5.2.0.2.
