Description Geoffrey Skinner 2015-08-14 16:44:35 UTC
Multiple attempts at Ctrl-V are necessary to paste into cells and appears to always fail on the first attempt.

I don't reproduce it under Win8.1 x64 using LibO 5.1.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 7d3fa6bae9f7a755eb2d0ca24bf1afd5f3646bb7
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2015-08-09_08:38:08
Locale: it-IT (it_IT)

please tell the exact Windows version you are using and the LibO daily build infos you can copy & paste from the Help/About menu

did you check if you have some kind of clipboard monitor software that may interfere with your Ctrl+V in LibO?

The actual behavior and issue is somewhat different than I first reported. With this version, it is necessary to click/select the cell, then issue Ctrl-V. This is only an issue with pasting into a blank sheet, so perhaps it is even a fix for a previously reported issue. The pre-LO 5.01 behavior was to automatically select the upper left cell (A1); though that cell is still highlighted when going to a sheet (new or existing), it is not actually selected.

I am working in Windows 7 Professional on Lenovo ThinkCentre, if that makes any difference

I created a new Calc sheet and could immediately paste to A1.

Maybe you should try https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/User_Profile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away with the profile reset.
