Description Luzius Auer 2015-08-20 14:01:38 UTC
I tried java 32 and 64 bits, base doesn't recognize the JRE 1.8.0_60-b27

Unable to run an existing base or to create and use a new one.
I also renamed the old user profile, but no way to use bases.
I have to reinstall LO4.4.5 :-((

Thanks to the developer teams for help or correction.
Best regards Luzius

On Windows 8.1 64-bit en-US with
Version: 5.0.0.5 (x64)
Build ID: 1b1a90865e348b492231e1c451437d7a15bb262b
Locale: en-US (en_US)

If you have the 64-bit build of LibreOffice you must install the 64-bit Java JRE. Or if you install the 32-bit build of LibreOffice, you must install the 32-bit Java JRE. The Tools -> Options -> Advanced: Java Options panel with "Use Java runtime environment" check-box must be checked active, and then the appropriate JRE selected with its radio button. If you have multiples--you can identify which as the path Location of the JRE selected will be listed at the bottom of the dialog.

I just had to reboot and cycle through available JREs on an upgrade to JRE 1.8.0_60-b27, but with the 64-bit JRE installed and selected--64-bit build of LibreOffice Base and its Java based dialogs are fully functional.

So, WFM. Please spend a bit more time with the configuration.

@Luzius : please be more precise in the description of your symptoms.

What do you mean by "run" and "use" ?
Do you get any error messages ? If so, what ?

There are no blockers, changing priority.
Comment 4 Luzius Auer 2015-08-20 20:27:31 UTC
Thank you V Stuart Foote: I uninstalled Java (there was an old version left which may have interfered with the newer version) then reinstalled Java 64.
I tried with the LO5 testing version 5.0.1.1 (x64) and Base was able to find the database and executes queries, reports etc as usual.
Best Regards, Luzius

If no objections closing as invalid.
