Editing this file makes calc crash.

Try to edit the attached document. Calc crashes randomly, usually when activating cell span on a selection of cells, but sometimes just when focussing the window.

I played with your test file in LibreOffice 5.0.3.0+ built at home under Ubuntu 15.04 x86-64 and I could not get LO crashing.
What do you mean by "activating cell span on a selection of cells". Please describe step by step what you do.

Best regards. JBF

Hi Jean-Baptiste,
my exact version is: LibreOffice 5.0.1.2.0 00m0(Build:2)
Step-by-step description is difficult: crashes don't occur on a regular basis. They happen suddenly and out of nowhere, sometimes several times in a row, sometimes not at all for minutes.
To reproduce the problem, I'd recommend to merge random cells in the document (that's the button I tried to describe), to separate them again and to merge them. The button I'm talking about is the one which merges several cells into one and centers the content. Its tooltip is "merce and center cells".

Ok I did A LOT of merging, splitting & remerging, but nothing bad happened.

Win 7 Pro 64-bit, Version: 5.0.1.2 (32-bit)
Build ID: 81898c9f5c0d43f3473ba111d7b351050be20261
Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI)

So I tried around and I get random crashes on any document (even unsaved ones) on Calc, Impress and even Writer (while typing text!...)
Solution: Downgraded to still (4.4.5.2)

You might also try this as a solution https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile

I'd not be happy losing all my settings and dict words. Also, everything is perfectly stable since the downgrade, so I'd be surprised to have a corrupt settings file.

It's just a try to check if it is a profile problem. Rename your current user profile and restart LibreOffice. If that solves the problem, you can transfer several of your settings from your corrupted profile to the new clean one, mainly your dictionaries, autotexts and templates.

-> Renamed the config folder
-> Installed libreoffice-fresh from official Arch Repo
-> Started Impress (config folder was automatically created)
-> Created a few shapes (smiley, circle, rectangle, triangle)
-> Moved them around the slide (within slide bounds) via drag'n'drop
-> Crash occured within 15 seconds the first time, within 10 seconds the second time
-> Shrugged my shoulders and got rid of libreoffice-fresh as fast as possible, back at libreoffice-still now.

You should file a bug report against your Linux distribution.

Did you try the build provided by TDF on LibreOffice website?

I guess I'll wait for the next release and see how that behaves. There's a reason why libreoffice is split into still and fresh under arch and as long as still is working fine, I'm quite happy with it.
