User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0 Build Identifier: LibreOffice 5.0.1.2 Every time I try to sort a table in Calc LibreOffice crashes. When it is a short table, it sorts, but still crashes. This version is also much slower than the previous version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create table. 2. Highlight cells for sorting. 3. Data - Sort Actual Results: LibreOffice completely freezes and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to stop process. Have left it to try and sort itself out for up to 15 minutes, but no joy. Expected Results: Sorted table according to requirements almost immediately like previous version did. I can not confirm with Verze: 5.0.1.2 ID sestavení: 81898c9f5c0d43f3473ba111d7b351050be20261, win7 I can sort table without crash. For the test, could you rename your LibreOffice directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and give it a new try?

Tried that, but it still crashes on sorting.
Attach test file and steps to reproduce, thanks
Created attachment 118597 [details] Test file that crashes when trying to sort Steps taken: 1. Highlight the 2 rows to be sorted. 2. Select Data - Sort 3. Change Sort Key 1 to column 4 and click OK. At this point LibreOffice crashes and files are restored. The funny thing too is, if I save the file as a different name before I do this, it then restores the original file and not the saved as file.
sorry, column f not 4. I have also tried a re-install but the problem persists.
(In reply to subs from comment #5) > sorry, column f not 4. > > I have also tried a re-install but the problem persists. Please note that this error does not seem to happen with new files created in v5, but with those originally created in v4 and earlier.
My rough guess is that it was fixed in the latest (pre-)release 5.0.2.1. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93098
Created attachment 118712 [details] Simple file for sort crash (just sort rows 3 and 4 by column A This is the simplest sheet I could find that crashes reliably when sorted. Just select rows 3 und 4 and press button "sort ascending". For reproducabitity reasons don't restore or save the document after the crash because sometimes the sorting is done after restore. It crashes reliablly on Wondows Vista and Windows7 (other systems not tested) and with the release 4.4.5 and 5.0.1. Remark: This Bug renders LibreOffice Calc unusable for me.

Yes, it's fixed. I read comment 7 after submitting my attachment and comment (sorry for that). I installed 5.0.2.1, and can confirm that my problem is fixed. Thanks a lot!
