Under french localization, Calc incorrectly decides that certain formulae return boolean values. Oddly enough, this does not happen under US english localization. Steps to reproduce: 1) Run Calc with the fr_FR.UTF-8 locale. 2) In the empty spreadsheet, enter the following formula in cell A1: "=B1+C1" (without quotes). Actual results: The text displayed in cell A1 is VRAI, the french translation of TRUE. Checking the cell's properties in Format/Cellules.../Nombres shows that the format description is BOOLEAN; changing it to Standard causes the cell to display the number 1. Expected results: The cell should display the number 0. Build date & hardware: Libreoffice version: 4.4.5.2, Build ID: 40m0(Build:2) OS: Debian GNU/Linux testing Relevant software packages: libreoffice* at version 1:4.4.5-2 Additional information: This bug does not occur if Calc runs with the en_US.UTF-8 locale (e.g. when run from bash with "LANG=en_US.UTF-8 libreoffice").
On pc Debian x86-64 with LO Debian package 5.0.1.2, I don't reproduce this. I use French UI+ For the test, could you rename your LO directory profile and give a new try? Indeed, it's weird that by default format of A1 is boolean.
I confirm the whole olivier.delande description. Debian x86-64 ; LO Debian package 1:5.0.2-1
Following last comment, let's put this one to NEW then.
(In reply to Pedrito from comment #2) > I confirm the whole olivier.delande description. Bug fixed with the LO Calc 5.0.2.2, LO Debian package 1:5.0.3.
