Description Jeehyun 2015-10-05 05:12:56 UTC
Hi.

MAC OSX 10.11 El capitan
LO 5.0.1 and 5.0.2
OO 4.1.1

Auto correction feature does not work in new osx version.
For example when I type - >, it should show arrow key.
Please fix this as soon as possible.
Thanks.

did you set a proper AutoCorrect replacement in the "Tools/AutoCorrect Options.../Replace: With: " table?
Comment 2 Jeehyun 2015-10-05 09:18:08 UTC
It's default setting.
It worked well in 10.10 Yosemite.

Actually it sometimes works in 10.11
But mostly it doesn't.
I don't know the reason.

BTW LO is very laggy when I type Korean.
English has proper speed.

Sometimes LO quits suddenly ans I must recover document.

I must go back to 10.6 and upgrade to 10.9 or 10.10 again.

please answer my question: did you go in the "Tools/AutoCorrect Options.../Replace:" menu and see if that "- >" to "arrow key" is present?

I said it is default and it worked well!
Please!

to understand the source of the bug we must know if that autocorrect replacement is effectively present in the autocorrect menu or not (so I'm asking for the third time to check that).

the bug could be caused by removal of that replacement entry from the default set or by a bug during text autocorrect while typing.

if you do not provide the requested informations it won't be possible to help you.

can you understand this?
Comment 6 tommy27 2015-10-05 12:35:21 UTC
another info you should give is if the missing replacement affects all languages or just some specific ones.
Comment 7 tommy27 2015-10-08 11:51:33 UTC
is the autocorrect malfunction just limited to arrows or other symbols are affected?

To be clear: you’re typing “- >” (notice the space) and expecting LibreOffice to change that into a real arrow, right?

But the default en_us AutoCorrect file has “->” (with no space).

In what locale are you using LibreOffice? (Help > About LibreOffice has this info.)

@Adolfo
I asked him the same thing 3 times (comment 1, comment 3 and comment 5) but he never replied to that question...

let's see if asking it for the 4th time will work :-)
