Created attachment 119764 [details] autoformat1 (screenshot) Sorry, but my LO is in Italian language, so I cannot show all in English (attachments are in Italian). Referring to help (https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Using_AutoFormat_for_Tables/it and attach. "autoformat1" mark1), it says: To Apply an AutoFormat to a Sheet or Selected Cell Range 1.Select the cells, including the column and row headers, that you want to format. 2.Choose Format - AutoFormat. 3.To select which properties to include in an AutoFormat, click More. 4.Click OK. The format is applied to the selected range of cells. Well, item 3 instructs to "click More" ("Extra" in the IT version) but I don't see any of that (see attach. "autoformat2").

Confirmed. To see the English help, you can simply click on the EN link.. https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Using_AutoFormat_for_Tables
(In reply to Beluga from comment #2) > Confirmed. > > To see the English help, you can simply click on the EN link.. > https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Using_AutoFormat_for_Tables I wish to add a further note I forgot. You should add item 7 instructing to exit clicking on CHIUDI (I think CLOSE in EN), otherwise, clicking OK, LO hangs (see bug 92506 comments 7 and 12).

I think you should join the documentation team. You should join #libreoffice-design as that is where the help content tinkerers currently hang out. They now use an extension to help with help authoring: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/msg07341.html
Created attachment 119971 [details] autoformat help anomalies I have summarized all my comments in the attached pdf.
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.1.6 or 5.2.3 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-UntouchedBug-20161108

I think nothing has changed: look at the attached odt for a full expaination about the anomalies.
Created attachment 130213 [details] screenshot about the help
Created attachment 130214 [details] screenshot about the menu
Tested again in LO 5.2.3.3 the help problem persists. At links https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Using_AutoFormat_for_Tables/it and EN https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Using_AutoFormat_for_Tables instructions are still incorrect or incomplete. Same comments apply to the local help. 1- the title "Usare la formattazione automatica per le tabelle" ("Using AutoFormat for Tables"): why "tabelle" ( "Tables") speaking of "un foglio o a un'area di celle selezionata" ("Sheet or Selected Cell Range")? 2- in both paragraphs it says "Scegliete Formato - Formattazione automatica." but in the IT menu we get "Formato - Stili di formattazione automatica..." 3- in the paragraph "Per applicare una formattazione ...." ( "To Apply an AutoFormat ....") it says "Per selezionare le proprietà da includere nella formattazione automatica, fate clic su Extra." ( "To select which properties to include in an AutoFormat, click More.") but in the IT version no EXTRA appears to click on. 4- in the paragraph "Per definire una formattazione ...." ( "To Define an AutoFormat ....") it says "Scegliete Modifica - Seleziona tutto" ( "Choose Edit - Select All") but it is not right: all mean all the sheet, while you must select only the formatted cell range (at least 4 x 4 cells) you wish use as a model. 5- however, the instructions are very limited and poor in content with respect to the topic complexity; further nothing is said about Elimina e Rinomina (Delete and Rename). In this respect refer to the bug 105152. 6- relatively to the previous p.2 also at https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/AutoFormat/it we can read "Menu Formato - Formattazione automatica..." but in the IT menu we get "Formato - Stili di formattazione automatica..." and here it says too "Più Consente di nascondere le opzioni supplementari della sezione Formattazione, qualora sia attualmente aperta" ("More Closes the Formatting options section, if it is currently open") but the option does not exist . 7- at https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Format/it what appears is completely different from the real (see attachments Calc-help for Formato and Calc-menu for Formato).
Marking as dup. If not, please reopen. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 105152 ***
(In reply to Olivier Hallot from comment #13) > Marking as dup. > > If not, please reopen. > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 105152 *** It may or may not be, too much time has passed, many things have changed (help and app), certainly the links indicated are now obsolete. I do not think that this bug can be considered a duplicate, more correctly I would close it defining it now obsolete!
