I have an Samba Server. Currently, other programs are able to access, store and update files there. LibreOffice Calc under Ubuntu 14.4 LTS was able to do that, too. But the LibreOffice 5.0.2.2 running under Xubuntu 15.10 denies access stating "Kein Zugriff auf Objekt. Aufgrund fehlender Rechte kann auf das Objekt nicht zugegriffen werden." This translates to "No access to the object. Due to missing privileges the object cannot be accessed."
Hi Karl - Is this with one particular file or every single file? Can you check the permissions of the folder and file and report back: I believe "ls -l *" inside of the folder will give you the permissions. Marking as NEEDINFO - please paste the output of that command to the comment. Thanks
The problem occurred when I had mounted the samba filesystem using thunar by entering "smb://<some name>" as the location. Now, instead, I have tried to auto-mount the filesystem when booting using fstab, and it works with the same files where it had failed before. So the problem is solved for me. However, it is strange that while it was mounted through thunar I was able to access and update a text file with an editor but not a spreadsheet with LibreOffice Calc.
