Screenshot of the bug

When scrolling the text document down using the up and down keyboard button (i.e. skipping the text lines up and down), the text lines offer appear broken or scrambled: the text is either not completely visible or it appears double. Please see the attached screenshot.

It kind of happens when a new line of text becomes visible at the top or bottom of the text area.

Doesn't happen when scrolling the text with a mouse wheel.

Different zoom views also have an effect on this.

Possibly related to 58358?

I could not reproduce it with LO 5.0.3.2, Win 8.1.
Do you have this only with a specific document or can you also reproduce it with a new test page?
Comment 2 Daniel T. 2015-11-07 11:12:37 UTC
I can reproduce this with any relatively long text document (several pages, at least).

Thanks for your very fast reply.
Maybe it is a Linux only issue. And maybe somebody else can reproduce and confirm it.

Any difference, if you toggle Tools - Options - LibO - View - Use OpenGL for all rendering?
Comment 5 Daniel T. 2015-11-12 13:48:21 UTC
With option "Use OpenGL for all rendering" checked, I indeed cannot reproduce the bug. But the scrolling both with mouse wheel and keyboard gets VERY painfully slow.

Would it be possible to give more information about your computer?
CPU, RAM, distro with version and also which graphical card driver you are using. It would be great to also get the output of glxinfo if possible. (that command is usually part of the one of the mesa packages, possibly demos or utils).

Set this as UNCONFIRMED when you answer please.

Are you using Windows or Linux? What are your OpenGL settings?

I'm using Linux.
Both OpenGL options are off/unchecked.
Comment 11 Buovjaga 2017-03-01 13:17:12 UTC
Hmm.. I was actually asking from E Moen, but the email was not in CC.

E Moen: do you still see this problem? Are you using Windows or Linux? What are your OpenGL settings?

To all: are you still seeing this in 5.3?

Are you using the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?

This has improved from earlier versions but is still not entirely gone. See the pictures I provided. Currently I am on:
Versie: 5.1.6.2
Build ID: 07ac168c60a517dba0f0d7bc7540f5afa45f0909
CPU Threads: 4; Versie besturingssysteem:Windows 6.2; UI Render: standaard;
Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL); Calc: group

The rendering problems occur when scrolling through a (large) document immediately followed by a selection of some lines of text or some table rows.

Cheers,

E. Moen

E Moen: could you also try with version 5.3?
I could not reproduce on Linux. I tried with Getting started with LibreOffice document. I tried scrolling with keyboard, mouse, after selection etc.

Is Daniel also still seeing this with 5.3?

Thanks, Daniel. Let's put to WFM for now.
