I insert a URL in a cell. When I try to change it and add something different always appended to the end of the text and I have to delete all URL and recreate it again. For example, if I write "http://www.google.es" and I want to modify it and I put "http://www.google2.es" the software makes me "http://www.google.es2"

Part solution?: I have been told by "Which? Computing", which does not address all the anomalies, the following regarding Autocorrect Options (these I have changed as suggested by them): The program tends to recognise text with dots as links, and automatically insert them as such, due to one of its settings. Although you can remove the hyperlink created with CTRL+Z, it will do it again the next time, as long as this setting is still active. To deactivate it, please see these steps: Load a document of the type for which you want to modify the URL recognition. If you want to modify the URL recognition for text documents, open a text document. Choose Tools - (AutoCorrect) - AutoCorrect Options. In the AutoCorrect dialog, select the Options tab. If you unmark URL Recognition, words will no longer be automatically replaced with hyperlinks. In LibreOffice Writer there are two check boxes in front of URL Recognition. The box in the first column is for later post-editing and the box in the second column is for AutoCorrect as you type.

In response to email request, I confirm that I am NOT able to edit a hyperlink in Calc without deleting it and re-writing it. I note from my Calc document that it only becomes a hyperlink if http://www. or www. is in front of the URL. It becomes a hyperlink normally after I leave the cell or press return. I am currently using a MacBook Pro mid 2015 Retina display with installed OS 11.5.2 with About LibreOffice 7.1.4.2 build a529a4fab45fefc5b62266... with CPU threads: 8; Mac OS X 10.16 <To test for this issue resulted in a different problem I have had with he current and previous two version of Calc: I tried typing in a URL, then tired to replace it, but the previous url stayed - I often encounter an issue now that means whatever I type into my old spreadsheet when edited is not saved as edited and sometimes becomes a jumble of characters with some missing from my attempt to edit it. I chose another cell and it only converted to a link when I used the Command key when pressing the return key. The first time I did this when I returned to it I found it had changed to the url http://www. with he remainder left as plain text!> I chose another cell and demonstrated it only converts to a URL with Command-Return, provided it is preceded by www or more. It is not editable in the cell, but is editable in the formulae bar. So I think the issue has been resolved. I have other issues not yet reported by me, mainly corrupted text entries in Calc as indicated above between the brackets < and > when I add or amend current entries, I think solved by not deleting the cell content and not saving the Calc file, then retrying.
However, my initial statement applies to existing links that cannot be edited in the formula bar or in the cell. but new entries can be edited in the formulae bar.
The above behaviour oddity described between brackets < and > will shortly be added as a new bug.

I have added a comment to the duplicate bug 106641 to explain an unrelated issue with the spreadsheet sample I had submitted for that bug report, just to clarify an issue I had that unwittingly seemed to have affected my submission: I submitted a Calc file with sensitive data and sheets deleted, but the data in my submission was not received! I subsequently sent screenshots to illustrate my issues.

Here is a great quick and dirty solution found by buck1 on https://ask.libreoffice.org/: 1. Select the cell containing the URL you want to edit. 2. Click the “=” in the formula bar. 3. Edit the URL text in the formula bar.
(In reply to Stephane Quenson from comment #20) > Here is a great quick and dirty solution found by buck1 on https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/cant-edit-a-url-in-a-calc-cell/98712/9 > 1. Select the cell containing the URL you want to edit. > 2. Click the “=” in the formula bar. > 3. Edit the URL text in the formula bar. One additional quirk: 1. if the cell that contains the hyperlink is cell A1, and the focus is on another cell (e.g. C10), then moving to cell A1 with the arrow keys shows one result (the hyperlink with gray background). 2. Now use the mouse to click on another cell (e.g. C10), then click on cell A1, click back on cell C10, click once again on cell A1 > the gray background highlighting is not shown, but the clean text. 3. In this status, click on the formula bar to edit the content of the cell > unfortunately the problem described in comment 0 is still present. OTOH, clicking on the "=" icon as described in comment 20 allows the correct edition of the hyperlink.
