Description Thomas Mueller 2015-11-26 03:01:52 UTC
Sorry for my bad english.

Writer does not keep selected Label-Format. I use labels 99012 which are 89x36mm (http://global.dymo.com/deDE/ProductAccessories/LabelWriter_400.html). If want to print to them, Writer allways set automatically to label 11354 which are 57x32mm. So Dymo Labelwriter 400 cut off after 57mm and only a part is printed.

Reproducing:
If enter with CTRL+P the print dialog, then select Dymo Labelwriter 400 as printer, then click to settings, select label 99012, then confirm several times with OK to go back to print dialog, and then click to settings again - there will be label 11354 again and not previosly selected 99012.

I can not use Writer therefore for printing labels at all. I have testet varios computer and notebooks, all with Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge and Windows 7 64-Bit. Also also have teste Version 4.x and 5.x of Libre Office Writer and also OpenOffice 3.x and 4.x versions. In all of them is the same bug :(

If i export label to PDF and then prind with Adobe PDF Reader, then everything is ok, Adobe PDF Reader keeps the selected settings.

Also i do not have this issue with Brother QL570 Label Printer. Only with Dymo Labelwriter 400.

Not Label 11354, but 30252 is allways preselected, sorry. So if try to select any other Label-Format than 30252 (e.g. 99012), then confirm 2x with OK, the go again to settings -> Label 30252 is again preselected.

You can try without having a Dymo LabelWriter 400, just install driver from this link and then add Dymo 400 in Windows Devices/Printers manually:

Reproduced by installing driver manually and trying the steps (advanced settings).

Lowering severity as workaround with PDF exists.

Version 5.4.3 still with this bug :(
Libre Office Writer does not "remember" the selected label, no possible to permanently select other Dymo labels than 30252 (28 x 89 mm).

If want to print on label 99012 (36 x 89 mm) only the first 28mm are printed to this label.

Dear Thomas Mueller,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
