Created attachment 120826 [details] Presentation of the bug How to reproduce the bug: 1. Open a new or already existing file with Calc. 2. Use the conditional formatting menu: Format > Conditional Formatting > Condition... 3. Close the window (e.g. by "Cancel"). 4. Immediately after, try to open the same menu again. Every item under the Conditional Formatting menu looks unavailable (gray). 5. Move the cursor out of the menu and try again, it looks normal again. Real-life scenario: one creates a conditional formatting rule but then he/she want to change the rule or the style. Consequences: probably causes confusion to the user, he/she may not use the functionality. Not an important bug but maybe it is related also to other bugs. keywords: FORMATTING, UI.
Hi @makishourdakis, thanks for reporting. I can't reproduce. Win10x64 Version: 4.2.8.0.0 Build Id: 48d50dbfc06349262c9d50868e5c1f630a573ebd Version: 5.0.3.2 (x64) Build ID: e5f16313668ac592c1bfb310f4390624e3dbfb75 Please try resetting the user profile, sometimes solves strange issues. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile
@m.a.riosv: indeed, after deleting the user profile I cannot reproduce it. On the other hand, they say "you can't say you fixed a bug until you find what caused it". Thank you very much for your help though!
If you have the old profile, as usually the issue is with the registrymodifications.xcu file (in the root of the user profile), please can you attach it here?, @Joel is collecting for bad profiles, please be sure it no has private/confidential information.
Created attachment 120853 [details] The registrymodifications.xcu file from my old profile (history removed) Here is the file from my old profile. I removed the history-related entries by hand.
Thanks. @Joel in cc.
Hi There! So I tested with your registrymodification.xcu and I don't see anything grayed out. Did you delete your entire profile or just registrymodification? If it was your whole profile - it could have been something else in the configuration that was broken. If it was just registrymodification then...I'm not sure what's going on. Do you have a second system to test on? If so, try to move your entire profile to a second system to see if you can still reproduce. While true that a bug is not fixed until we find what caused it, if it's *very* specific to a single computer (some environmental issue) then spending a ton of resources tracking it down is just not worth it (in particular when the original reporter has resolved the issue). So what you can try if you're still interested in helping: 1) Put your registrymodification file back in your new profile and see if things break again; 2) If you did a full profile replacement then backup your current profile and move your broken one back - see if you can reproduce the problem. Report back with your findings :) Thanks! Also feel free to come say hi in our Quality Assurance chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa
I can't reproduce with the reported xcu. Maybe something only visible with a specific combination between profile and any hardware as the graphics card.
