Converting text with spaces to curves results on very thin vertically stretched characters on Mac OS X. I think, this is specific to this OS and probably not reproducible on other platforms. To reproduce: Launch draw, enter some text that contains several words like "Hello, this is me!". Select, right click, Convert to Curves, watch the result. The same thing happens in the background when exporting to EPS. The latest Apache OpenOffice does not have this problem, so I understand the bug is somewhere in the non-shared part of the source code.

The bug still exists, LIbreOffice 5.2.4.2
Sorry, just read that you didn't want me to change the version number, so I flipped it back. The previous version on the bug was 5.0.3.2, in the version 5.2.4.2 the bug still exists without any change in behaviour. MacOSX Sierra, but probably any version (as it was tested one year before with an older OSX).
This works for me in the latest release Version: 5.4.0.3 Build ID: 7556cbc6811c9d992f4064ab9287069087d7f62c CPU threads: 2; OS: Mac OS X 10.12.6; UI render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group
