Description LeaPoli 2015-12-16 01:07:09 UTC
There is a crash that closes the whole Writer when do the following:

1º) In the menu of insert entries for the table of contents, selecting the words to insert

2º) Moving with the arrows to the another selected entries or selecting new one

3º) When closing the windows, drag the outside part of the sheet (gray part). That immediately closes the program and don't let you to restore; shows the windows to do it, but nothing happens.

Thank you.

Update: It happens sometimes when going deleting entries with the button, and then accept the operation o close the window. The menu of entries freeze and close the Writer

I must recognize I don't understand how to reproduce this. Certainly someone may help.
Indeed, I created a brand new odt file and added a table of contents.
Then I right clicked and selected "Edit Index/Table" + chose "Entries" tab.
But then I don't understand the rest:
- "selecting the words to insert" (I can't select any words at this step)
- "Moving with the arrows to the another selected entries" (arrows just make entries display, nothing else)
...

Anyway, could you give a try to last stable LO version 5.0.3?

"Selecting the words" stands for remarking with left-button mouse the word/s to create the entry with.
And "moving with the arrows", means that when i've another entries and move on; even that action ends with the bug.

A tried more and realize that it's the whole action of create entries that exits on crash. At leats, it happens when i use the window, if copy and paste an existent entry (made it with an older version, v.4) and change the words and update the table; it doesn't happen. Just only when use the menu with "Edit Index/Table"

I'll try the 5.0.3 version.

When on dialog box of "Insert Index/Table", I can't select any word in the file content.

I put this back to UNCONFIRMED so certainly other people will give it a try.

I understood it this far:
1) Create table of contents, leave it empty.
2) Write a word into the document and select it.
3) Insert - Table of contents and index (menu in 5.1/5.2) - Index entry.
4) Change from Alphabetical index to Table of contents in the dropdown, hit Insert and close.
5) Do the same index entry process for another word.
6) Right click ToC and update.

But then I fail to understand the part about "moving with arrows". Where do we move??

In any case, we can see that the instructions are not clear. Please give extremely detailed instructions or screenshots of this "moving with arrows".

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.
