Since downloading 5.0.4.2, cannot open database table, says 'Due to unexpected error, LibreOffice has crashed. It then tries to recover file, but fails and goes round in circles.

Can you supply a testfile or a steps-to-reproduce. And which system to you run, windows/linux/mac ?
Have you tried resetting your user profile ? https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile

Set to invalid now, because of lacking information. Possibly the problem is gone or resolved by a reset of the user profile?
