Confirmed with v5.0.4.2 under ubuntu 14.04 x64. Confirmed with v4.4.7.2 under windows 7 x64. The screenshot from office isn't completely correct either. It's missing another background image. LO 3.3.4 can actually see the missing main image, but not the other one. In impress you can see the position/size of the image, but you can't see it even if you copy it to writer. Think these are OLE images. Maybe related to bug 96774 or maybe even bug 86026 ?
