Problem statement: The menue item "commenting" (in German "Kommentieren...") in the Format Menue is enabled even if there is no comment in a writer document. Hitting the menue item nthing happens. Comparing this behaviour with the "range" item (in German "Bereiche...") one above in the format menue it should be just enabled, if there is a comment in it simmilar to the range item, which is just enabled, is a range is defined and a format protery of a range could be manipulatetd. Steps to reproduse : 1. start LibO Writer with a blank document 2. see Menue Format and there "Kommentieren ...", it is enabled (see first screenshot with this report) (the "Bereich" is not enabled) 3. hitting on "Kommentieren..." nothing happens 4. do a range definition and a comment on the writer document 5. see Menue Format: "Bereiche..." is enabled (and hitting on it you can manipulate it (see second screenshot) 6. hitting in "Kommentieren..." you can manipulate the format properties of a comment Expected behaviour: Similar to the "Bereiche..." Item the "Kommentieren..." item should be disabled as long as there is no comment in the writer document and so it is not possible to manipulate a format propertiy of a comment.
Created attachment 121989 [details] "Kommentieren..." enabled though there is no comment
Created attachment 121990 [details] "Bereiche..." enabled just when a range is defined in writer
I can confirm the problem with Comments in the Format menu. What do mean by "a range is defined in writer"? How do you do that? Do you mean adding a comment to a range of text? That has nothing to do with Sections. Best regards. JBF
Hi Jean Baptist, the range example is just for showing, how enabling and disabling the menue item under the Format menu works (in difference to the commenting item one beneath). And yes, in the Insert Menu you are able to define a text range (one or more paragraphs), and then under the format menu you can manipulate properties of such an text range, for example a condition to display or hide the text range. Thanks for confirming, Lothar
The menu item is new in 5.1.~
