When I tried to select adjacent header (i.e. A, B, C) using Ctrl + click, it works as expected - highlight header and full row, but when I tried to click non-adjacent header (A,B,C then F), header lost it's highlight.

Hi hellgorithm -

This is actually expected behavior. The point is that if you see that the header is not highlighted it is indicating to the user that not ever column is selected. Imagine if you were highlighting columns A - AA (so it went off one screen), it's valuable to know whether all the columns are selected. Excel has the same behavior. Closing as NOTABUG. Thanks for the report

i dont mean every column but only the selected column A,B,C and F..in ubuntu if you try to click column A,B,C..its header is highlighted with orange..but when you click F, selected column's header colors becomes normal. kindly see screenshot

Yes - I know what you mean. And that is intentional. Compare it to Excel and you'll see exactly the same behavior.
