Revisited in 6.2.1.2 on Windows. For the most part, behavior has improved quite a bit. The Paste Special command is now more widely available. Pasting formatted text into a text box, does not really work well across the board. Font face, font size, and font style are all lost.
Please download daily master LO 7.1+ and retest.
Please download daily master LO 7.1+ from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html and retest. Master is separate to working LO and doesn't take extensions. There was some general improvement on paste, so good to see what happens here.
I'm gonna declare victory on this one. Impress is still not 100%, but maybe close enough. Paste is now clearly much more usable in Text Boxes.
