LibreOffice is inserting/changing letters that are UNWANTED and UNASKED FOR. When I want to change <room and> to <room. > I type <room. > and I strike through the word 'and' and add a space to get ready for the next word. I get <room. A> instead of <room. > When I want to change <is> to anything else, and I type a space after the i in 'is' and I get <iI > > THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME AND I AM SICK OF IT. OPEN OFFICE DOES THE SAME THING! AM I GOING TO HAVE TO BUY A WP PROGRAM? IF I DO, WILL IT DO THE SAME **BULLSHIT**?? > This REALLY slows down my editing! It is a MAJOR problem!!!!!!
On Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit en-US with Version: 5.1.0.2 (x64) Build ID: ecd3574d51754b043f865cf5bafee286d24db7cc CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.29; UI Render: GL; Locale: en-US (en_US) I can't reproduce this with the limited details you've provided. I did review the default Replace tables in AutoCorrect (Tools -> AutoCorrect -> AutoCorrect Options) and see nothing that would have the results you list. Do you have some extension added to a default installation. Are you working with a clear/new user profile? Sorry, but could you please write up more specific steps to reproduce starting with an empty document. That is the only way we'll be able to assess things.
(In reply to JIM7 --via PM-- ) >The bug only occurs when I am editing with both "Record Changes" and "Show >Changes" turned on. Try it that way. Nope, not reproducible. Please attach a test document with instructions for reproducing the issue. =-=-= p.s. -- non in PM please, reopen the Bugzilla issue and respond there. Thanks.

Open any document for editing (it won't happen if you just start typing). Make sure "Record Changes" and "Show Changes" are turned on. Find the word "is" Type a space between i and s what do you get? "iI s" Find the word "and" such as: "Jim and" try to make it 2 sentences: "Jim. I" you get "Jim. And I" > See attached for examples Examples are NOT logical sentences. They are to show what happens.

@JIM7 please tell the exact LibO version you are using and the exact Window version of your PC (including 32 or 64 bit) last available LibO release in 5.0.4.2 so if you are not up to date, download it and install it. if you are already using that release, please try reetting the user profile https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile then tell if this fix things or issue persists. status -> NEEDINFO

I went to: Tools ▸ AutoCorrect Options I unchecked almost everything. I think I fixed it. Prelim test is good. I'll keep in touch, if my fix doesn't work.
Okay, I found what was doing it. In: Tool/AutoCorrect/options If you have (T) check marked on "Use replacement table" You will encounter my problem. :) I suggest you have the default be unchecked. :)
Thanks. I don't think changing that default is a good idea :) Closing.
