I am using Libre Office under Elementary OS (Version: 4.2.8.2 Build-ID: 420m0(Build:2)) and also under Win 7 (Version: 4.4.7.2, Build-ID: f3153a8b245191196a4b6b9abd1d0da16eead600). As I have to be compatible with other users I save the documents as .xls files. When I add internal links (to other tables in the same document) under Elementary, this is quick and smooth. Under Win 7 if feels like minutes until the window for inserting a link opens. When I have inserted the links under Win 7, then edit some links in the document under Elementary and then again open it under Win 7, all internal links are corrupted. The initial two letters of the target names are missing. E.g. #Table 1 then reads #ble 1. External links (www.xyz) are not affected.
Hi RaiPal, Thanks for filing. I've experienced the same recently on an older installation. On Lubuntu. 4.2 is really old - for LibreOffice habits. Now 4.4 doesn't get any more updates, afaiknow. I can't test it on Windows too. Sorry. Cor

Being absolute beginner in LibreOffice, I was not aware that automatic updates only function within one version. I updated both machines to current version 5.0. Now the window for editing links in the Win version works fine. However, the incompatibility between the Win and Elementary version still exists! The initial two letters of the link are no longer deleted, but now replaced by a "." under Elementary and by a "!" in the Win world. Means #Test becomes #.st or #!st, respectively. Regards, RaiPal

He did not mean automatic updates, but updates in general to the branch. See here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan Please attach example file so we can test. I think it would be best for you to give it to us in .ods format, so we can then save in .xls. Btw. is there a reason you can't use .xlsx? Binary formats like .xls are harder regarding bug fixing. Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the document.

I tried to reproduce the bug and provide an example, but was unable to do so. I was a bit confused... My own old file still showed the bug. When I checked the version number I found that it is no longer 5.0 but apparently an automatic update to 5.1.0.3 had occurred meanwhile. So this may have solved the problem. - Unconfirmed but apparently resolved! Sorry for any inconvenience.
Ok, let's set to WFM. You can always set back to unconfirmed, if you can reproduce the problem.
