Up until a few weeks ago when I clicked on 'Save As' when trying to save a file (a spreadsheet) in Calc, this action produced a list of the available drives on my PC and I was able to choose the appropriate one in order to save my file on a connected external memory device. Since then when I click on 'Save As' this action produces a list of files, all with their full file names, and I can't see how to access the relevant drive. I find this list of files too detailed which makes it difficult to find the one I want to replace with the new file to be saved. Because of the wealth of detail shown, it is too easy to choose the wrong file. Has Calc been upgraded, unnecessarily in my opinion, as the previous 'version' worked satisfactorily? Or have I inadvertently altered a setting somewhere in Calc which has caused this change? Is it possible to return to seeing the list of available drives when 'Save As' is clicked?
It sounds like previously it remembered the "root" position in your file system, so it showed you all you drives. Now it has remembered some folder and is displaying it to you by default. I don't understand, why you are not seeing the drives in the left sidebar of the save dialog in Windows. Could you attach a screenshot of how it looks like? Maybe redact any filenames etc. you don't want public using Paint, GIMP or whatever. Take screenshot with Alt-PrtScr and paste to an image editor. In any case, this doesn't sound like a problem with LibreOffice, but I can try and help you. Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the document.
Ok, from private email exchange, it was determined that the cause was LibreOffice file dialogs (Tools - Options - LibreOffice - General: Use LibreOffice dialogs). After switching to Windows native dialogs, the reporter was happy.
