Description mal 2016-02-18 14:25:26 UTC
Using openSUSE 42.1
KDE 5.5.4
LO 5.1.0.3
NVidia

Cannot select either duplex or paper tray options unless
LO KDE4 extensions are installed

Installed LO without KDE4 extensions but with Gnome extensions
Try to print a document
File /Print /Properties
All options in Duplex and Paper tray cannot be selected

Installed KDE4 Extensions
Works OK ( but the reason I left off KDE4 extensions in the first place is the icons look horrible with it installed )

Side effect : Select File /Print /Properties
Click on the arrow next to either Duplex or Paper tray to get the dropdown
Now you can't click anywhere else ( in any application or the desktop )
until you get rid of the dropdown.

Same in Writer and Calc

The Gtk+ backend implements it's own printer handling. Probably there are some conflicts when used with KDE, not that I can imagine, how that's possible?!

As the reporter stated, the KDE VCL backend works, as it relies on LO own printer handling.

As an additional info to the reporter: the icon set can be changed independent of the backend via Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice -> View -> Icon style.

Not sure, if we want / can to fix Gtk+ VCL. Let's see, if Caolan has an idea.

It should actually be the same dialog in gtk2/gtk3 and kde4 by default and the same printer discovery code I think so I can't think offhand how there could be a difference. Maybe a screenshot of the dialog not working, vs the (almost) working kde case might be helpful

Using 5.2.2 now with KDE 5.7.95
I did not install KDE or GTK3 extension
but did install the Gnome ones and it is fine
