Description boicottms 2016-02-21 07:13:07 UTC
working in base, if the pc goes in suspension mode (eg closing the screen), when I wake it up the pc itself awakens but base hangs - I have to kill the process.

Did it work in a previous version?
5.1.1 is coming next week with various fixes: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/5.1#5.1.1_release

Oops, sorry, didn't see this bug (shoulda searched for "suspension")

Also, as per this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/745836

I noticed that Keeping a LO Draw document open does seem to help prevent the problem for suspend / sleep, but not for the long periods of idle time problem. I was able to wake from sleep successfully a couple times with both a Base and Draw document open (and still not with just Base open), but when I left it to idle for long periods of time, I came back to the same problem, grey screens on Base, Draw and a Calc document I had open. Trying to start other LO processes did not work either. Document Recovery worked excellently on the Calc doc.

Note, my computer is not set to sleep after any period of time (it's a desktop) but it is set to turn off hard disk after 20 minutes and screen after 60 minutes. My hard disk is an SSD, so I will try disabling hard disk sleep and see if the problem persists.

This might be two bugs, one for the "Base alone can't sleep" problem and one for the "everything hangs after long idle" problem

Bug still present in version 6.3.5.2 (x64)

Base hangs when waking from sleep.
Doesn't hang if I have another document open (like Draw)

Dear boicottms,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
