Description Ryan Hankins 2016-02-21 19:59:18 UTC
1. Open a presentation in read-only mode in Impress in Linux.
2. Select some text from the document.
3. Press the middle mouse button (depending on configuration) to paste the text.
4. The text appears in the document.

I couldn't find any direct duplicates, but this appears to have commonality with 87544 and 96225.
Comment 1 Jean-Baptiste Faure 2016-02-22 10:37:48 UTC
Reproducible for me with version 5.0.5, 5.1.2.0.0+ and master under Ubuntu 15.10 x86-64.
It works as expected in Writer: nothing happens when I press the middle button of the mouse.

Best regards. JBF

Bug 87544 isn't related for sure. No idea about Bug 96225.

Comment 4 Jacobo Aragunde Pérez 2017-03-29 11:17:43 UTC
I can still reproduce this bug with:

Version: 5.2.0.4.0+
Build ID: 883df5accee144490a48aeae5f128a397b7c0dd9
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.9; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

Will try a newer version as soon as I can, but I suspect it will still be reproducible.

It also happens if you select an inserted image in the presentation, when you middle-click it will be pasted and it cannot be undone because that feature is disabled.

Still reproducible. You can also select some text outside LibreOffice, click anywhere and get a text box with the paste text added.

CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.1; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;

Dear Ryan Hankins,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
