Created attachment 123001 [details] DOC version having too big checkboxes when compared to PDF +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #96326 +++ LibreOffice 5.1.0.3 running on Windows 7 64-bit. Attached DOC and PDF versions of document as an example: "Kotimaan näyttelyilmoittaumislomake", also available at site http://www.kissaliitto.fi/lomakkeet/nayttely When opening DOC version of the document, checkboxes are too big leading to incorrect layout like moving "cm" to next line, check the screenshot showing differences between RTF, PDF and DOC, differences highligted.

Created attachment 123163 [details] LO 5.2 RTF & DOC vs PDF screenshot Screenshot of the same document's RTF and DOC versions at LibreOffice 5.2 nightly 2.3.2016 on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit vs. PDF version showing too big checkboxes on RTF and DOC leading to incorrect layout pointed by red arrows. Red boxes located beside and under selection boxes are identical size with the RTF and DOC version and showing those to be bigger thant on PDF. Also several other layout problems showing on that screenshot: - RTF version having too narrow table (grey box) at the bottom of the page causing text to split on two lines, when compared to one line at PDF and DOC - DOC version having incorrect table cell border spacing leading to all sort of layout problems, compare to correct layout on RTF and PDF. See red arrows. - RTF has incorrect horizontal alignment for some tables moving them too much to left when compared to PDF and DOC - DOC version incorrect vertical alignment on some of those boxes at the bottom of the screen leading to overlapping and unreadable mess.
Testing on Ubuntu 14.04 + LO 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ (2016-02-24_23:58:47) (In reply to Ari Latvala from comment #0) > When opening DOC version of the document, checkboxes are too big leading to > incorrect layout like moving "cm" to next line, check the screenshot showing > differences between RTF, PDF and DOC, differences highligted. I see the line-wrapping of the text "FIFen minimimitat näyttelyhäkeille 50x50x50 cm", so I'll tentatively CONFIRM this one (assuming that this is a rendering difference that we wish to eliminate). Status -> NEW
> I see the line-wrapping of the text "FIFen minimimitat näyttelyhäkeille > 50x50x50 cm", so I'll tentatively CONFIRM this one (assuming that this is a > rendering difference that we wish to eliminate). > Status -> NEW Yes, that's exactly one place, where that problem shows clearly.
Problem is still there on the latest LO 5.2 Beta 1 for Windows 7 SP1 64-Bit
Created attachment 132843 [details] Compare PDF vs DOC vs RTF at LO 5.3.2 This screenshot taken with 200% view shows that both DOC and RTF version have too big check boxes when compared to the PDF versions expected layout. On DOC that leads also to the incorrect text layout, when "cm" does not fit any more to the same line. Interestingly RTF version does not have the same problem even though checkboxes appear to be similar size with DOC.
Problem still there on .DOC at LibreOffice 5.3.3.2 running on Windows 10 64-bit Creators Update. Checkboxes too big when comparing to PDF or Word Viewer layout.

Bug is still there on LibreOffice 6.0.4 for both RTF and DOC Version: 6.0.4.2 (x64) Build ID: 9b0d9b32d5dcda91d2f1a96dc04c645c450872bf CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI); Calc: group
Created attachment 142578 [details] Screenshot showing PDF difference compared to DOC and RTF On PDF version showing expected layout checkboxes have clear space between them vertically but on both RTF and DOC version checkboxes practically touch each other. LibreOffice 6.0.4 used for RTF and DOC.
Problems still valid on the latest LO 6.1.3. DOC version has only slightly too big checkboxes but font is correct unlike on RTF version of the doc, where both font and font size are wrong. Should be Arial 9 but checkboxes are Times new Roman 12 instead, while text font and size is correct.
Problems still valid on LO 6.2.0.3. Checkbox point size is 10, should be 9.

There is still a difference on checkbox size on the latest LibreOffice 7.1 vs. Word. LibreOffice behaves similarly with RTF and DOC version, checkbox is little bit bigger than on Word. Added a screenshot of already attached DOC-document showing difference when Zoom level is set to 200% on both programs to highlight the difference. Look at the space between vertical checkboxes. Size difference doesn't seem to affect checkbox location though, so the problem is at least on this document just visual and does not mess the total layout anymore. Created attachment 169715 [details] LO 7.1 vs Word checkbox size difference JPG picture
Already in 3.3.0.
(In reply to Ari Latvala from comment #15) > Added a screenshot of already attached DOC-document I don't see DOC attached for screenshot attachment 169715 [details]. And it looks so similar that I don't see a bug, please explain. Note that you can write comment when attaching file, no need to separate comment and attachment.
Created attachment 175034 [details] Screenshot LO 7.2 vs Word checkbox layout On LO 7.2 checkbox size difference does not mess DOC layout anymore like it did on older versions. However checkbox still has size and look difference LO having bigger boxes but with thinner lines. On Word both the checkbox and X showing selection are clearly more bold than thin lines on LO.
Same checkbox behavior on the already attached DOC -file than on the screenshot, even though the actual DOC file is different. Importance of this is now very low because actual document layout not any more messed due to the difference, LO just uses clearly thinner lines for the actual checkbox as well as for the selection and box is bigger. Reserved space now seems to be identical, so only visual difference.
I don't see a difference so I think this should be closed.
(In reply to Timur from comment #21) > I don't see a difference so I think this should be closed. There was some difference in the layout of doc before 7.0. But that was because the cell holding "FIFen minimimitat näyttelyhäkeille 50x50x50 cm" has a small inner border set, which was not imported correctly. Since 7.0 it is correct. So I think this part was a wrong diagnose. The tables horizontal positioning also looks correct since 7.0 Also the document does not fall apart when saved to doc/docx in Writer and reopened in Writer or even Word \o/. The interesting part comes after converting attachment 123001 [details] to RTF in Word, then opened in Writer: table positions are still incorrect, and saving the RTF in Writer causes more layout issues due to paragraph style/direct formatting save problems. I opened bug 147077 and bug 147078 about these still remaining issues.
