Multiple .RTF files on my desktop had Calc Spreadsheet icons and opened up in Calc. They are barely readable.

I have added the file in question. After taking a look at in Notepad++, it appears the structure of the file was radically changed, which supports the bug.

Repair your file association. Writer open  this file without problem.

right-clicking on a .rtf document and selecting "open with...". Find and select LO Writer, and check "always use this program to open this type of document". Click OK.
