On articles such as : https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Grid the description refers to the menu system on a Windows OS, not a Mac (not sure how the Linux system compares). There is a note here: https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Options, but that does little good unless a person happens to stumble across that article. As a long-time Wikipedian, I would be willing to make some updates but there's no clear path on how one would go about doing that.

Can you give specific examples of what's Windows-specific on that page? e.g. is it the "Tools - Options - LibreOffice Impress/LibreOffice Draw - Grid" ? (it's easiest for triage if we have a set of 'repro steps' that we can walk through one by one. thanks!) Status -> NEEDINFO
quickbeam: would you have some time to respond to Robinson's comment?
Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 6468968f5fc9d9bbddb19c160d40731e70560c19 CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Mac OS X 10.11.6; UI Render: default; Locale: fr-FR (fr.UTF-8); Calc: group Under LibreOffice > Preferences > Draw > Grid Snap to Grid : checkbox Visible Grid : checkbox There are no entries for these in the corresponding help text. I don't know whether that is specific to the Mac version or not. Other than that, everything else described on that help page appears in the dialog.
Just tested against my master build on LinuxMint 18, the dialog is identical so the problem doesn't lie there. The only difference is then how to reach the LibreOffice options setting under Mac, which is via LibreOffice > Preferences. In the built-in help, the problem is not the same, i.e. the help content is tailored for the path specific to LO on OSX. Confirming, although I'm not sure how we can accomodate the differences. This would require a non-static online help content which would alter depending on the OS recongized by the browser accessing the site.
A much simpler solution is to just have a comment for Mac users, much like https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Options already does it (see my initial comment). It's not that hard to make the Help pages accommodate different user systems, especially since that is one of the goals of the LibreOffice application.
Regarding the built-in help, that seems to be heavy on help topics generic to OSX and not specific to LO, so the wiki pages are what I use. For instance, searching for "resolution" gets help pages on screen resolution, not grid resolution. Searching on "grid" only shows the grid menu in LO, and help topics about the OSX finder. I'm not sure what search items give you anything about the Preferences window. (I'm using version 5.0.4.2, which is somewhat dated now).
This issue refers to an old wikihelp that has been replaced since then. The Help page associated is now https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/shared/optionen/01050100.html?DbPAR=DRAW All information is there. Closing WFM
